  1. Body and Soul is an album by the Al Cohn and Zoot Sims recorded in for the Muse label. Reception. Professional ratings; Review scores; Source Rating; Allmusic: The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow stated "Cohn and Sims still Genre: Jazz.
  2. The band's new pianist makes the mistake Count Basie worked SO hard to avoid: TOO MANY NOTES. Every time he goes for a solo, he goes bananas trying to show how much he can play. That is wrong on so many levels, if this is REALLY a Count Basie Orchestra, and the pianist should know better.
  3. Teddy Wilson And His Orchestra: with Billie Holiday, vocalist; Lester Young, tenor sax; Teddy Wilson, piano 6. Texas Shuffle, NYC, Aug, 22, Count Basie And His Orchestra 7. 5. They play together "as one", too. There is real talent here. And a bonus is Butch Miles. His drums drives this new Basie band just as he did for Basie 30+ years ago. Thank you Bill Hughes for giving me back my "Basie fix". I had forgotten how good Basie made me feel.4/5(8).

  8. Great selection of music presented somewhat in the Basie style by Bill Hughes and the remnants of the Basie Orchestra. I failed to notice that this album was recorded after his passing and consequently lacks a lot of nuances from Basie's original recordings. I was seeking to replace my original vinyl recordings of this music by Count Basie and /5(8).
